These guidelines are implemented in the administration of international student admissions and are intended for all international students who will participate in educational programs at Universitas Bangka Belitung.
Types of International Student Admission Programs
Full Degree
The full degree program is an educational program intended for students who wish to undertake studies at Universitas Bangka Belitung in order to obtain an academic degree, namely a Bachelor’s degree for undergraduate programs and a Master’s degree for postgraduate programs.
Programs included in the full degree category are: :
Bachelor’s Degree
International students may enroll in undergraduate programs with a study duration of 3.5–4 years, depending on the selected program. Courses are conducted in Indonesian and/or English.
Requirements
1. Applicants must be no older than 21 (twenty-one) years of age at the time of registration.
2. Applicants must have completed secondary education or its equivalent, as evidenced by a diploma or academic transcript with a minimum average score of 80 (eighty). These documents must be translated into English by a certified sworn translator.
3. Applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency with a valid TOEFL ITP score of at least 500, TOEFL iBT score of at least 55, or IELTS score of at least 5.5 at the time of registration. International applicants from English-speaking countries are exempt from submitting proof of English language proficiency.
4. Applicants must provide a recommendation letter from their previous school, written in English.
5. Applicants must possess a valid passport with a minimum remaining validity of 18 months.
6. Applicants must obtain a Study Permit issued by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of Indonesia (Kemdiktisaintek).
7. Applicants must comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the Republic of Indonesia, as well as the rules and regulations of Universitas Bangka Belitung.
8. Applicants must pass the Universitas Bangka Belitung (UBB) International Student Admission Selection, which consists of administrative and interview assessments.
Full Degree Program :
1. Registration
a. International applicants must complete the registration process in accordance with the requirements available at http://pmb.ubb.ac.id.
b. Complete the application form.
c. Upload the following required documents:
1) Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume;
2) A valid passport;
3) Certified and legalized diploma and academic transcript from secondary education or its equivalent;
4) A valid TOEFL ITP, TOEFL iBT, or IELTS certificate;
5) A recommendation letter from the applicant's previous school, written in English;
6) A Medical Certificate issued by a hospital;
7) A Motivation Letter written in English, consisting of 1–2 pages (approximately 500–1,000 words);
8) A parental or guardian consent letter;
9) A Statement Letter declaring the applicant's willingness to:
- Comply with all laws and regulations of the Republic of Indonesia and the regulations of Universitas Bangka Belitung.
2. Selection Process
The admission selection process for international students consists of two stages:
1. Administrative Selection
The administrative selection is conducted through the verification and validation of the documents uploaded by the applicants.
The results of the administrative selection will be announced through the website at http://pmb.ubb.ac.id, and applicants who pass this stage will be required to proceed to the next stage of the selection process.
2. Interview Selection
The interview stage is intended for applicants who have successfully passed the administrative selection.
The interview will be conducted online according to the schedule and procedures established by Universitas Bangka Belitung.
The interview will primarily assess:
- Academic motivation;
- Cultural adaptability;
- Financial capability;
- Language proficiency;
- Future study and career plans.
The interview panel shall consist of at least:
- Representatives of the University Leadership;
- Representatives of the Faculty Leadership;
- Representatives of LPMPP through the International Affairs Office.
3. Announcement of Results
The final admission results, based on the administrative and interview selection stages, will be determined through a Rector's Decree and announced through the website at http://pmb.ubb.ac.id.
Applicants who are successfully admitted will be issued a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) as official proof of admission.
4. Re-registration
International applicants who are declared successful must obtain:
a. A Study Permit issued by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of Indonesia (Kemdiktisaintek);
b. A Student Visa and Limited Stay Permit (ITAS).
Thereafter, admitted applicants are required to complete the online re-registration process through https://daftar.ubb.ac.id/login by uploading the following declaration documents:
- Declaration of Compliance with Universitas Bangka Belitung Regulations;
- SIAKAD Data Declaration Form.
Applicants who have successfully completed the re-registration process will be officially enrolled as students of Universitas Bangka Belitung through a Rector's Decree.
Financial Support
International students enrolled in the Full Degree Program and officially admitted as students of Universitas Bangka Belitung through a Rector's Decree are eligible to receive a fully funded scholarship package covering the following expenses:
1. Full exemption from Tuition Fees (UKT);
2. Full exemption from the Institutional Development Contribution (IPI);
3. Monthly living allowance;
4. Health and/or life insurance coverage;
5. Two international flight tickets (one inbound ticket upon arrival and one return ticket upon graduation, provided that graduation is completed within the standard study period of eight semesters);
6. Student visa expenses.
The fully funded scholarship is valid for a maximum period of eight (8) semesters. Any educational and living expenses incurred beyond the eight-semester study period shall be the sole responsibility of the student.
1. Once an international applicant has successfully passed both the administrative and interview selection stages, Universitas Bangka Belitung, through the Bureau of Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Cooperation (BAKK), will issue a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) as official proof of admission.
2. LPMPP, through the International Affairs Office of Universitas Bangka Belitung and in coordination with the Cooperation Division of BAKK, will prepare the required documents for the submission of a Study Permit application to the Directorate of Institutional Affairs under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology through the International Student Study Permit Service portal.
3. LPMPP, through the International Affairs Office of Universitas Bangka Belitung, will receive the approved Study Permit and forward it to the student.
4. LPMPP, through the International Affairs Office of Universitas Bangka Belitung, will regularly conduct monitoring and evaluation activities, as well as provide both academic and non-academic support services to international students throughout their studies.
1. Academic Services
a. Orientation Program: An academic support program designed to help international students adapt to the university environment and campus life at Universitas Bangka Belitung.
b. Academic Advising: A program that provides guidance and assistance to international students throughout their studies at Universitas Bangka Belitung. Each international student will be assigned one (1) academic advisor to support and monitor their academic progress.
c. Academic Facilities: International students are entitled to access all academic facilities provided by the University, including the library, Academic Information System, Learning Management System (LMS) EdLink, laboratories, and other facilities that support learning activities.
d. Indonesian Language Course: LPMPP, through the International Affairs Office, in collaboration with the UBB Language Service Unit (UPA Bahasa UBB) and the Language Office of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, provides Indonesian language training before the commencement of classes and periodically throughout the students' study period at Universitas Bangka Belitung.
2. Non-Academic Services
a. Accommodation Assistance: Assistance is provided to help international students find suitable accommodation in the areas surrounding the campus.
b. Health Services: International students may access healthcare services and health facilities provided by the University.
c. Counseling Services: Counseling support is available to assist international students with personal, social, and academic matters throughout their studies.
d. Student Activities and Talent Development: International students are encouraged and provided with opportunities to participate in student organizations and extracurricular activities (Student Activity Units/UKM) available at Universitas Bangka Belitung.
